IIHIDERO Victor Osae, Benin
The Benin Crown Prince, Eheneden Erediauwa, has stated that he has no preferred Candidate for the Edo state 2016 governorship election slatedfThefor September 10.

The Crown Prince and Edaiken of Uselu spoke during the visit of APC governors and party standard bearer at the Weekend in Benin City.
The delegation was accompanied by Edo APC governorship Candidate, Godwin Obaseki along with his running mate, Philip Shuaibu who paid obeisance before the royal father.

Prince Erediauwa who wished the delegation and Obaseki well, tacitly commended APC led government of Governor Adams Oshiomhole and prayed for the ancestors to endow the Candidates seeking to lead the state the wisdom to make good policies that would impact on the lives of the downtrodden in society.

“I have always said one thing, and I have repeated and reiterated it over and over again. The Benin Monarch is not partisan. However, it is not always too easy to be in the opposition with the party at the centre in Abuja.”

Speaking on behalf of the APC governors, the Imo State’s Governor,  Mr. Rochas Okorocha, paid tribute to the departed Benin Monarch for promoting unity of Nigeria and good neighbourliness.

According to the governor, the party has made its mark in the state “but if after all these good jobs it follows that there should be continuation; so that we do not go back to Egypt.

“Governance is the one that relates with the people. And for the whole party to have looked at all the candidates, not because he is the finest, not because he is the tallest, and have chosen him means that certain qualities of Adamism are in him. They started right and they said we should accompany him here. And the first to visit the stream takes the cleanest of the water.”

Oshiomhole sought the support of the royal father, assuring that Godwin Obaseki apart from surpassing his mark in terms of achievement, will not disappoint the people if given the mandate.

Oshiomhole were accompanied by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna State, Abdulahi Ganduje of Kano State, Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State as well as deputy governors of Niger, Nasarawa, Jigawa, Borno, Kwara, Kogi and Oyo states.
