Almakura Tasks Media On Professionalism, Fact Based Reportage

Governor Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa State has tasked media practitioners to ensure professionalism and fact based reportage, calling on them to continue to live up to the ethics of the profession.

Govovernor Almakura disclosed this in a working tour of media organizations in the State for the purpose of familiarization and to strengthen the relationship between the State government under the stewardship of Governor Almakura and the media in the state.

The governor, who was represented by the Director General (Strategic Communication and Press Affairs), Mr. Yakubu Lamai,  specifically solicited the professional support of media organizations towards balanced media coverage prior to the 2019 Elections and constructive analysis of government actions and programs in Nasarawa State.

Mr. Lamai said the media should chronicle what the Governor has done in the last seven years to show the values he has put forward for the sake of Nasarawa state.

He said the governor has worked well to be accountable, transparent and create a government that is all inclusive.

Lamai stated that the government has done a lot on infrastructure, which goes with the mantra of ‘Seeing is Believing, a well as demystify the usual shroud of secrecy in Government making it trusted, understood and accountable to the people.
